Ninja Turtles Movie Release Date June 2014
The Long awaited reboot of "Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles" is coming but looks like we got to wait longer. After producer Michael Bay confirmed the casting of Megan Fox in the movie last week, it jumped back onto everyone's radar. Now the film's release date was originally scheduled for May 16, 2012, has been pushed back to June 6, THR reports.
The movie, simply titled "Ninja Turtles," is supposed to begin filming in April, according to Production Weekly, and is currently being cast. While Bay announced the casting of Fox himself, he didn't confirm which role she would be playing. While the most obvious choice would be for Fox to play the turtles' human sidekick April O'Neal, she isn't the only human female in the franchise.
Another character in the Ninja Turtle universe, named Karai, has played a big role in the franchise, since it was relaunched in 2003. The character is the daughter of the series' main villain, The Shredder.
With the start date of the film closing in, it's likely more casting decisions will soon be made public, hopefully giving a better idea of what the film's plot is. The movie was originally supposed to be filmed last year, for a Christmas 2013 release, but was shut down during pre-production. Fans of the series were highly critical of the new film when Bay announced that the turtles were no longer mutants, but rather members of an alien race. Do you think Bay will send the Turtles in a good direction or will there be just a bunch of explosions. Leave some comments would like to hear your opinions!
